Ads are unimpressive to see, to most of the visitors. So they install adblock extensions in their browsers. Adblock apps can block ads and thereby prevent disturbing content from being displayed. They also cause a good reduction in data usage and thereby reduce the data bills too. However, many bloggers depend on ads like Adsense, Clickads etc. to earn their living. Blocking ads will result in huge loss of revenue to them. So, here we are introducing a list of plugins (and tricks) which can inform visitors about adblock extensions in their browsers and ask them to disable such extensions to access your site. Only those who let ads appear are allowed to access he content of the site.
I have tried all the following plugins(3) and tips (1) personally and am satisfied with their working. There are free or lite versions of plugins which you can use forever or you can go wwith buying paid versions for more sophisticated features.
1. Adblock Notify
This simple plugin asks users to disable adblocking apps to access the site. It will show a humble message so that user will feel that the site is harmless. There are options to block content of site to adblock enabled users. I recommend this plugin and uses its pro version in my own websites. Adblock notify has 2 versions, Lite and Pro. Lite version has all basic features and the pro version has got more advanced features and gives guaranteed results.
2. FATS (Force adblock to stop)
It is a paid plugin with guaranteed results. Supports all types of ad publishing from almost all publishers. It is cross-browser compatible and can detect all types of ad blockers. It is easy to setup and for $15, it is a worthy purchase with lifetime free upgrades. Get it here
3. Adblock X
AdblockX is another impressive wordpress plugin to detect adblockers. You can see realtime visitors who uses adblockers and can view the log of ad impressions too. Premium features are paid ones and the basic features are free, like other plugins. To download, go to this page.
4.Using static ads
Adblocking apps block ads by recognising scripts or codes used in displaying ads. Static ads like jpg images and gif images when shown as ads in ad columns are never detected or blocked by adblocking plugins or extensions. They consider jpg files as just part of the website and so they are allowed to be displayed. However adsense and similar publishers doesnt give such ads. So you should find ads from offline sources of your own for some monthly or yearly payment basis.
Hope this list is useful.
